

Vijay's father and noted veteran director SA Chandrasekhar was greeted with cheers and hugs from his family members as the actor-turned-politician took a massive lead in the Tamil Nadu assembly election results. The filmmaker had earlier this morning visited the Subramanyaswamy Temple in Tiruttani and offered prayers for Lord Murugan ahead of the result declaration.
Videos of his family celebrating Vijay's party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) taking lead in over 70 seats in the elections have been going viral on social media. With several rounds of counting remaining, voters across age groups, especially youngsters, have been glued to television screens to track Vijay's progress in the elections.
For the unversed, Vijay's party members had contested in all of the 234 seats in the state while he stood from two constituences - Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. The actor is currently leading in votes from both the constituencies.
