Celebrations have already begun among Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) cadres and Vijay's residence as the party has taken lead in nearly 105 constituencies in the Tamil Nadu assembly election results. With counting still underway, the final numbers are awaited, but it is clear that TVK has achieved massive strides in their political debut with Vijay leading in both the constituencies—Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East—that he contested in.
Praise and cheers from celebrities across the film fraternity, including actors, directors and other crew members, have been pouring in for Vijay and his party cadres. Director Venkat Prabhu, who made the sci-fi action thriller film The Greatest of All Time with Vijay had also expressed his happiness on the actor-turned-politician marching his way to register a landslide victory. Sharing a video with Vijay in his GOAT look on a TVK flag, the filmmaker wrote, "The Greatest of All Time," along with a couple of fire emojis.
Fans and a large section of the youth, who have been glued to their screens since morning tracking their favourite star’s progress, have been hailing Venkat Prabhu as a “visionary” on social media for seemingly predicting the actor’s victory.
Many users on X shared a screengrab from the actor’s 2024 film where Vijay’s vehicle bears the number plate 'CM 2026'—a detail now being seen as a hint at his political entry and win in the assembly elections. "Big praise for VP’s impact and foresight in Tamil Nadu politics," one user said. Another person called the Mankatha director as the "Nostradamus of TN." Interestingly, the first song from the GOAT is 'Whistle Podu', the actor's symbol in this elections.
On the work front, Venkat Prabhu is currently working on a film with Sivakarthikeyan, a project which has reportedly been delayed due to changes in scripting.
