Earlier, we reported about Nimisha Sajayan and Karunas starring in a film titled Enna Vilai, directed by Sajeev Pazhoor. The film wrapped production way back in December 2024 and has lately been screened at festivals. One of those events, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, recently recognised the film.
The yet-to-release film received the Best Screenplay award at the festival named after the maker of India's first-ever film, Raja Harishchandra. This adds another trophy to the cabinet of Sajeev Pazhoor. Earlier, Sajeev won Best Screenplay for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum at the National Film Awards and Kerala State Film Awards.
According to the makers, the sociopolitical thriller has the type of story that can have an emotional wallop of an impact on the audience and can keep them on the edge of their seats. While the makers keep the award in high regard, they emphasis that they have made the film for the big screen experience, says reports.
Githesh V, who produced the film alongside Anugopal Venugopalan, said that the award is a testament to the story and acknowledges the efforts of the team. At the same time, Githesh added that the film has all the emotional and attractive elements that will appeal to the masses.
On the other hand, Sajeev said that the film is rooted and realistic and that an award for it at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival is a distinctive achievement. At the same time, Sajeev, too, underscored the commercial values of the film.
