Actor and racer Ajith is celebrating his 55th birthday on Friday. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, Ajith's Good Bad Ugly director Adhik Ravichandran shared an unseen BTS photo from the sets of the film, also teasing his excitement for their upcoming collaboration, AK64.
For the unversed, Ajith is joining hands once again with Adhik for their sophomore collaboration after Good Bad Ugly and the former's 64th outing. Adhik previously said that the film will go on floors in February, but there has been no update on the production commencing so far.
Wishing Ajith on his birthday, Adhik wrote, "Happy birthday, my dear sir. Thank you for inspiring me & all of us and making India proud; you’re the nation's greatest pride. Our Padma Bhushan. Always lucky and blessed to receive your kindness and love. I am so grateful for the day I met you, for having worked with you & creating unforgettable memories with #GoodBadUgly; everything feels so surreal. Can’t wait to create more special memories Very Veri soon." (sic)
Back in November, while addressing the press about AK64, Adhik said, "It will be a very special film for me because Ajith sir has trusted me with another film after Good Bad Ugly. I am working on AK64 with that responsibility. It will be a very special film." More details about the film's plot, extended cast, and genre are awaited.
Meanwhile, Ajith is awaiting a docu-film on his endeavours on the race track. Helmed by the Deiva Thirumagal director, a release date for it is yet to be announced. It is well known that Venkat Prabhu and Ajith had a glorious collaboration in Mankatha (2011), which was re-released recently to a massive response in theatres. Recently, speculations have been rife about the GOAT filmmaker joining hands with Ajith in Mankatha 2, as the director's upcoming film with Sivakarthikeyan has been delayed. While an official confirmation is awaited, a buzz regarding the same has been strong on social media.
Marking the occasion of his birthday, Ajith's Billa (2007) has been re-released in theatres on May 1.
