The opening and end credits for the film Youth mentions, "Directed by Ken and Gang," making the audience curious as to who the gang members are. At a Youth event earlier today, actor-director Ken Karunaas introduced his longtime friends who played a big part in his journey. "I use the 'Ken and Gang' label because I will not be on this stage without them," the actor-filmmaker said before introducing his friends one by one.
Ken also suggested that he would talk to his gang about films on the rooftop. "I would not have been able to do this film without them," he added before expressing his gratitude to his friends.
Ken Karunaas also thanked his direction team for their contributions to the film. "None of them worked as camera team or direction team members. They did all kinds of tasks," he said. Referring to one of them, Ashok, he said that his team member looked after him on set like his mother would. Ken's introduction of his direction team at the Youth thanksgiving meet are reminiscent of what director Sivakumar Murugesan did at a similar event for his film Thaai Kizhavi.
He also thanked Ammamuthu Surya and revealed that the Happy Ending director is doing a film, produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions. "This project would not have been possible without him," he said, referring to the director of the 2024 film, starring Yash Puri and Apoorva Rao.
At the event, Ken also thanked his Youth cinematographer Viki for his contributions to enhancing his performance. "He was the one who found out that I was feeling some fear or felt a bit upset while shooting amidst the crowd," the actor-director disclosed.
