Recently, Rajinikanth issued a statement on TVK General Secretary Aadhav Arjuna's comments about the ruling DMK party threatening the veteran actor when he considered entering politics. Rajinikanth, without directly condemning Aadhav Arjuna, thanked his supporters and well-wishers for defending him. Now, Rajinikanth's wife, Latha, has also addressed the issue.
At the airport, when asked about Aadhav Arjuna's comments by the press, Latha said, "He [Rajinikanth] clearly mentioned that those comments are untrue. He also made it clear that such rumours must not be spread by anyone. When someone spreads false news, we are bound to be affected by it."
Further, Latha was also asked about Rajinikanth's reunion with Kamal Haasan and his long career in cinema. "I am unsure when the film will go on floors. It is a very exciting moment, and the collaboration only brings us pride," she said, adding, "His long cinema journey can only be attributed to God's grace, the love from the audience and his hard work."
For the unversed, Aadhav Arjuna made the comments while addressing party members at the protest against the state government on March 12. He also said that Rajinikanth returned to acting under the Red Giant Movies banner after he was threatened by the DMK.
On the work front, Rajinikanth recently wrapped filming for Jailer 2. Jailer 2 is helmed by Nelson, who also helmed Jailer. The film, which comes three years after Jailer, will see Rajinikanth reprising his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, who plays his wife.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is also working on Thalaivar 173, helmed by Cibi Chakravarthy and backed by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. The film is all set to go on floors in April. Rajinikanth is also joining hands with Kamal Haasan for an upcoming film tentatively titled KHxRK reunion, which is set to be helmed by Nelson and feature music by Anirudh Ravichander.
