Actor Trisha Krishnan shared glimpses from stylist Eka Lakhani’s wedding celebrations in Mumbai on Saturday, including pictures featuring filmmaker R Parthiban’s daughter, Keerthana Parthiban. The posts come weeks after the director publicly took digs at Trisha and actor Vijay over their appearance together at a wedding reception in Chennai.
Eka Lakhani tied the knot with Ravi Bhagchandka in a star-studded ceremony attended by several members of the film industry. Sharing moments from the celebrations on Instagram Stories, Trisha posted videos of the couple during the ceremony. Among the posts was a group selfie originally shared by writer-director Sanaa Mariam, featuring several guests including Keerthana. Reposting the picture, Trisha joked, “The Gen Zs and I.” In another photo from the event, Trisha and Keerthana can be seen standing together with other guests.
The posts have drawn attention in the context of a recent controversy involving Parthiban. The filmmaker had earlier mocked Trisha and Vijay after the two were seen together at a wedding reception, an appearance that came shortly after reports surfaced about Vijay’s wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, filing for divorce, citing infidelity.
During a speech at the Galatta Awards, Parthiban joked, “This Kundavai should be kept at home for a few days. That’s good. Don’t let her come out,” referencing Trisha’s character in Ponniyin Selvan. He also made another remark about Vijay in a Women’s Day message.
Trisha responded strongly to the comments at the time, writing on social media, “A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at.”
Parthiban later apologised for his remarks but went on to argue that the public appearance by Vijay and Trisha had caused greater damage to the actor’s political image than the Karur stampede. In a subsequent YouTube video, he clarified that his criticism was not directed solely at Trisha, noting that Vijay too was involved in the situation.
