Actor Vijay has been facing some troubles in his personal life in the recent past amidst his campaigning efforts for CM's post. In September last year, a stampede happened during his political rally, causing multiple deaths. The actor still faces a CBI investigation in relation to his role in the Karur stampede. Subsequently, his film Jana Nayagan's release faced some uncertainty, following a row with the Censor Board. Recent reports suggest that the board is set to review the film soon and is expected to give it a release clearance certificate soon.
On the personal front, Vijay's wife Sankgeetha filed for divorce at a court in Chengalpet. In her petition, Sankgeetha alleged that her relationship with the actor-politician has been broken following his alleged affair with an actress. While she did not name any actress in the petition, Vijay's subsequent appearance with Trisha at a recent function has been facing some public scrutiny.
Amidst all this, Vijay assured his fans and political supporters that he would take care of certain 'issues' in his life. At a campaign event this Saturday, the actor-politician acknowledged that 'many issues' have been circulating of late. Then, he told his supporters that he knows how they are fighting for him and getting hurt by these issues. "I will take care of all that," he said, telling his supporters not to feel worried or hurt but rather stay confident. "Let us focus on people's problems together," he told a rapturous audience.
While Vijay did not mention what the said issues are or whether these pertain to him on a personal level, netizens are connecting his comments to some of the recent controversies mentioned above.
Vijay also faces a penalty following an unfavourable verdict in a tax case concerning his remuneration for the film Puli.
