Actor Dhanush is currently awaiting the release of Kara, director Vignesh Raja's sophomore film after Por Thozhil which hits screens on April 30. Following this, he has an exciting line-up of films which are Rajkumar Periasamy's D55 and Mari Selvaraj's D56.
However, it looks like Tamizharasan Pachamuthu's D57 is moving ahead as D56. The Lubber Pandhu director, on Wednesday, shared a black-and-white photo of him sitting in a village temple, confirming that he has started recce for Dhanush's D56, hinting at Mari Selvaraj's film getting delayed in pre-production process thereby taking a step back in Dhanush's filmography. It is to be noted that Mari Selvaraj recently said that his project with the actor "demands a massive creative and technical process" as the Idli Kadai actor wants it to become the biggest film of both their careers.
Tamizharasan Pachamuthu's film is currently in its early stages and details on its title, plot and other cast members are yet to be confirmed.
Last year, in an interview, the director said, "My next film is one I began writing after meeting the actor," without naming Dhanush. " It's a story crafted specifically for him. I don’t overthink my writing process, but I constantly remind myself that I’m writing for a star. At the end of the day, it’s the fans who are our primary audience, and the story needs to resonate with them. At the same time, I want the film to appeal equally to general viewers," he added. Tamizharasan further explained that he is working hard to rectify past problem areas. "I’ve been putting in more effort here than I did for Lubber Pandhu. With my first film, I made a few mistakes, though the audience was kind enough to overlook them. I want to address those shortcomings in this next project."
Meanwhile, his next with Mari Selvaraj is expected to commence in September. The director recently revealed that it would be a "fantasy, historical, and political film." It will have music by AR Rahman and is being backed by Dr Ishari K Ganesh's Vels Film International.
