Ever since the promo of KH x RK was released back in February, fans and audiences have been eagerly awaiting an update regarding the film headlined by Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, helmed by Nelson. While most details regarding the project remain shrouded in mystery, speculations were rife about Shruti Haasan's casting in the project. However, the actor-singer has now dismissed the claims.
"I'm not part of the project," said Shruti Haasan, but expressed hope for Nelson's screenplay and direction for the yet-to-be-titled film. Shruti played a key role in Rajinikanth's Coolie, which released last year, but she stated it clearly that she is not part of the upcoming film.
"Just like the others, I'm also eagerly looking forward to see what Nelson is going to do. I'm so excited. I'm a big fan of my father but after working in Coolie, I became a huge Rajini sir fan because of his personality. I'm excited to see them both on screen. I just met both of them recently and they are amazing. They're a treasure to our industry," she said, adding that the movie will be a "true celebration" for audiences.
The promo, which was unveiled in February, hints at a film with plenty of vintage elements, which are apparent in Rajinikanth and Kamal's costumes, the Mercedes-Benz car they travel in, and the music for the glimpse video. The extended cast details are currently kept under wraps.
Inban Udhayanidhi of Red Giant Movies is producing the film, with the banner's own Arjun Durai and M Shenbaga Moorthy serving as co-producers. Speaking about the film, Kamal wrote on X, "A Special reunion with my friend Rajinikanth. Every great journey deserves another chapter! My best to Nelson Dilpkumar and Anirudh - and to Red Giant Movies for powering this collaboration."
In addition to Anirudh as the composer, the film's technical team includes cinematographer Rajiv Menon, editor R Nirmal, art director DRK Kiran, and costume designer Pallavi Singh.
