Anirudh has been one of the most popular music directors for a long time now. The popularity explains why fans swarmed him for selfies when he visited the Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai recently. In a video shared by Polimer News, the composer can be seen patiently posing for pictures with temple staff, devotees, and fans. He maintained a pleasant demeanour as he satisfied each and every person who approached him for photographs. He also participated in some of the temple rituals.
Also known as Annamalaiyar Temple, the main deity at the place of worship represents the element of fire. The myth around it centres on Lord Shiva appearing in the form of an infinite pillar of fire in order to humble Lord Vishnu and Brahma.
Anirudh is known for his frequent visits to the temple to seek divine blessings, taking time off from his busy schedule in the film industry. When he goes there, the authorities at the temple are known to honour him with a garland. His visits have also coincided with milestones in his career, offering prayers ahead of new film single launches or major cinematic projects.
For example, he went there with his Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj, writer Rathna Kumar, and actor Arjun Das ahead of the Vijay starrer's release five years ago. Back then, he shared pictures of his visit to the temple and said that it was for the success of the film, starring Vijay and directed by Lokesh.
The latest spiritual sojourn by the composer comes shortly after his independent song, titled 'Aravindh,' has garnered 10 million views. Reportedly, the song is named after Aravindh Baskaran, the composer's childhood friend who is also a sound engineer.
Anirudh's upcoming films include Jana Nayagan, Arasan, DC, Jailer 2, The Paradise, and the Kamal Haasan-Rajinikanth reunion project, among others.
