This Tuesday marks Dhanush's birthday. The actor turns 43 years old as of today. Some of his co-stars and industry colleagues wished the actor on his birthday. Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram Stories space, shared a still featuring her with her co-star and wrote, "Happy birthday Dhanush," followed by a love emoticon. Sonam Kapoor described him as "one of the most gifted and grounded people" she knows.
Dhanush and Sonam starred together in the 2013 romantic drama, Raanjhanaa, directed by Anand L Rai. Raanjhanaa marked Dhanush's debut in Hindi cinema and increased his recognition across the country. The actor earned much critical appreciation for his performance in Raanjhanaa and multiple awards as a debutant in Hindi.
Actor Brigida Saga, who starred with Dhanush in Idli Kadai, also wished her co-star on his birthday. Sharing a still featuring her with him on her Instagram Stories space, Brigida wrote, "Happy birthday Dhanush sir. The only person who's the reason behind my love for cinema and Ilaiyaraaja! Forever grateful that I got a chance to work with my idol. "Ennam pol vazhkai, Ennam pol dhan vazhkai!" Love you sir."
For the unversed, "Ennam pol vazhkai" (life as your thoughts) is a quote widely attributed to Dhanush, as he often says it in his public speeches. Brigida plays a younger version of Geetha Kailasam's character Kasturi in Idli Kadai, starring and directed by Dhanush. It is worth noting that Dhanush is also set to play Ilaiyaraaja in an upcoming biopic, to be directed by Arun Matheswaran of Captain Miller fame. There has been a delay in the production of the Ilaiyaraaja biopic.
Dhanush's upcoming films also include an APJ Abdul Kalam biopic, a film with Lubber Pandhu filmmaker Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, and Om with Amaran director Rajkumar Periasamy and Mammootty.
