Some of the audience members for the recent Jana Nayagan audio launch made 'TVK' chants and used flags of its led actor Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, at the event. Interestingly, a similar situation took place at yesterday's Parasakthi audio launch as well. Vijay fans made virtually every opportunity to make their present felt count, chanting 'TVK' at instances where there was some silence at the event. Fans have been responding emotionally to Jana Nayagan, with it being Vijay's final film before his full-time political entry. Consequently, some of them have been expressing their animosity towards multiple elements of promotions for Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan. Earlier, they left many angry comments under the Parasakthi audio launch promo shared by Sun TV's official X handle. They claimed that the Parasakthi makers', Dawn Pictures, decision to release its audio launch on the same day as the Jana Nayagan audio launch is politically motivated.
Regardless, even as fans continue the Parasakthi vs Jana Nayagan banter, some of the key members of both films have been trying to play down the box-office clash between the two biggies. For instance, at the film's audio launch yesterday, Sivakarthikeyan explained the decision to move the film closer to the Vijay starrer's release date. The actor said that his film's makers tried to move its release from Diwali 2025 to Pongal 2026 to avoid a direct clash with Jana Nayagan, only for the latter to also set a release date similar to the former film. Consequently, he called Vijay's manager and ensured that the superstar is also not unhappy with the change in the release date.
Even so, Vijay fans continue to question the decision by Dawn Pictures to move the film's release ahead from January 14 to 10, with some of them claiming that this is also politically driven.
