There has been many different reactions to the latest trailer for Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan. While some netizens are excited for Vijay's swan song, others expressed their disappointment for the hint in the trailer at the film being an adaptation of Bhagavanth Kesari. Amid all the discourse, director Rathna kumar, who has served as a dialogue writer on Master and Leo, both Vijay films, shared his response to the Jana Nayagan trailer. Sharing the trailer link on his X account, Rathna Kumar said that he has "mixed feelings" about Vijay's character saying lines such as 'Thirumbi pora idea vey illa' (I have no intention of returning). However, Rathna Kumar also said that he is excited about the release of the film. "What an adrenaline pumping Ooraa Masssss Trailer. Thalapathy Vijay sir slaying in his fort," the filmmaker wrote.
Rathna Kumar suggested that he would watch the film upon its release because he is a fan of actor Vijay. As reported earlier, the trailer has many lines that appear to be a nod to the actor's political foray. At one point of the Jana Nayagan trailer, Vijay's character says, "I am only a normal person but have heard that everything I do is super." Elsewhere, he whips a gang of political goons and scolds them for their political entry with the intention of looting and killing rather than selfless service.
Jana Nayagan's cast also includes Bobby Deol and Prakash Raj in antagonist roles, Sunil, Mamitha Baiju as the Vijay character's sister, Narain, Pooja Hegde, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Nasser, and Reba Monica John, among others. Produced by Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, the film is slated to hit theatres on January 09, coinciding with the Pongal festival.
