As we reported earlier, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to appear in an extended cameo in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. The news of Shah Rukh Khan's cameo appearance in Jailer was previously confirmed by Mithun Chakraborty in an interview last year. Now, speculations are rife that the Bollywood actor is set to film his portions in the film in the month of March.
While Rajinikanth has completed filming for Jailer 2, Shah Rukh Khan's scenes are yet to be filmed. With reports suggesting a schedule lasting a week or more for the Jawaan actor's portions, the makers are most likely to wrap up production thereafter.
The makers of Jailer 2 are yet to confirm Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in the film. Jailer 2 is helmed by Nelson, who also helmed Jailer. The film, which comes three years after Jailer, will see Rajinikanth reprising his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, who plays his wife. While Shivarajkumar has confirmed his cameo reprisal in Jailer 2, the presence of other senior actors like Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff is yet to be confirmed. Vinayakan will also be seen in the upcoming film, despite his character's demise in the 2023 film.
New names added to the ensemble this time around include Jatin Sarna, Mithun Chakraborty, Santhanam, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vijay Sethupathi, Meghana Raj Sarja and Anna Rajan. Other big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, and Mirnaa are also expected to be part of the sequel's cast. There is also buzz about the appearance of Nora Fatehi in a dance number.
Plot details of the film are currently under wraps. Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner. On the technical front, the film has music by Anirudh. The first film's technical team members, such as cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan and editor R Nirmal, are also coming back for the sequel.
While Rajinikanth initially announced June 12 as the film's release date, new speculations suggest the film will only hit theatres on August 12. The makers are yet to confirm the same.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, last seen in Dunki, is currently working on King. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan.
