Silambarasan, who is currently busy with a couple of film projects in hand, recently appreciated CM C Joseph Vijay's governance in Tamil Nadu and underlined the trust the state's citizens have on the actor-turned-politician.
In a recent interview with Savukku Shankar, Silambarasan said, "More than Vijay anna's fame, people have developed immense trust in him. When someone that trustworthy comes along, only then people support them."
Two months ago, the Pathu Thala actor called on Vijay and met him at his office, to wish him for a successful tenure. He also shared some photos of his meeting with the CM.
When the conversation veered towards his entry into politics, the actor kept his answer open ended, while also dismissing any rumours of his imminent entry. "I don't know...The line for people wanting to join politics is long. I think everything has a time. Everything has to come together and a situation needs to arrive for that. From when I was young, I have not had a leaning towards politics as I have seen my father (T Rajendar) struggling in that space. May be it is because of that I didn't develop that interest. More than me, I know that my father is knowledgeable, knows Tamil well and has better understanding in the political space who wanted to genuinely work for people's welfare, but when he himself faced a lot of issues, I knew that this was not my area to enter," he explained.
When further probed, Silambarasan said, "My brother is doing well as the Chief Minister. I want him to continue. Time will tell if I will join him one day."
On the work front, Silambarasan is currently busy with the shoot of Vetri Maaran's Arasan. The cast of the film also includes Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu, Yogalakshmi, and Jibin Gopinath, with Samuthirakani and Andrea Jeremiah reprising their roles from Vada Chennai (2018).
