Following Mahesh Babu’s praise for DC, Allu Arjun has now joined the growing list of celebrities applauding Arun Matheswaran’s latest directorial. Taking to X after watching the action thriller, the Pushpa star called the film a “Tamil classic” and urged film lovers to watch it.

“Watched #DC! It’s a Tamil classic. Every film lover must watch it. It’s poetry for those who get it,” Allu Arjun wrote. He went on to congratulate the entire team and specifically lauded Arun Matheswaran, describing his work on the film as deserving of the “highest respect".

The actor also had words of praise for Anirudh Ravichander’s music, calling him an “absolute master booster” and describing the technical aspects of the film as brilliant. Allu Arjun further appreciated the performances, singling out Wamiqa Gabbi and the film’s protagonist, Lokesh Kanagaraj. Addressing Lokesh directly, he referred to him as “my director” and called him the “biggest pillar of support.” Responding to him, the film's director Arun wrote, "Thank you so much, sir, for watching #DC and embracing the film with so much love. It means a lot to the entire team. As a filmmaker, your words and appreciation make this even more special for us."

Interestingly, the praise comes even as Allu Arjun is set to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj next. The former will star in the latter Telugu directorial debut, temporarily titled AA23. The project was officially announced earlier this year and is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Anirudh Ravichander attached to the music.

The post comes a day after Mahesh Babu also showered praise on DC, calling it an “original and outstanding film” and saying he “loved every bit of it.” Arun Matheswaran responded to Mahesh’s post by thanking him for watching and appreciating the film, while Anirudh also expressed his gratitude to the Telugu superstar.

DC revolves around Devadas, played by Lokesh Kanagaraj, an outsider who finds himself protecting an innocent family after they become victims of police brutality. As he and his companions attempt to evade a ruthless police officer, the journey takes them through violence, unlikely bonds, justice and redemption. Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy play the female leads, while Aadukalam Naren, Thalaivasal Vijay and Kasthuri Raja appear in supporting roles.

Released on August 7, DC marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut and Arun Matheswaran’s fourth feature after Rocky, Saani Kaayidham and Captain Miller. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, the film has cinematography by Mukesh G, editing by GK Prasanna and stunt choreography by PC Stunts. The film crossed the Rs 50 crore mark within ten days of its theatrical run and is currently eyeing the Rs 100 crore milestone.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is currently working on Raaka, his ambitious collaboration with director Atlee, which is being produced by Sun Pictures and features Deepika Padukone in the cast.
