Actor Trisha has made headlines once again after attending CM Vijay's maiden Independence Day event which began with a flag-hoisting ceremony. Trisha sat alongside Vijay's parents SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekhar. Several videos of her presence at the ceremony has gone viral online.
Three months after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay hoisted the national flag at Fort St George for the first time on the 80th Independence Day. Speaking at the event, he urged people to break free from the divisions of caste and religion, stressing that genuine freedom can only be achieved by overcoming such barriers. He also identified the fight against corruption as another crucial form of liberation.
Vijay said people begin to unite when they recognise that they have been subjected to oppression. He said this realisation can help dismantle divisions based on caste and religion, drawing a parallel with Mahatma Gandhi’s leadership during India’s freedom struggle.
Previously, Trisha also made a prominent appearance along with her mother Uma Krishnan during his oath taking ceremony on May 10 which grabbed eyeballs online. She took a front row seat to the event as well which took place at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Both Vijay and Trisha have been at the centre of controversies ever since their public appearance at the wedding reception of Kalpathi Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh's son. Speculations of their relationship have been making rounds for a long time. However, the duo have refrained from commenting on it.
Recently Vijay's wife Sankgeetha had withdrawn her divorce petition that she filed on February, based on irreconcilable differences, allegations of adultery with an unnamed actress in 2021, and mental strain. Vijay has been married to Sankgeetha for more than two decades now, and the couple have a son, Jason Sanjay, and a daughter named Divya Saasha.
On the work front, Vijay's swansong Jana Nayagan from filmmaker H Vinoth was released last month. Trisha was recently seen in Suriya-starrer Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji.
