On Monday, actor-turned-chief minister Vijay celebrates his 52nd birthday. This birthday is particularly special for the Jana Nayagan actor, given his historic political win and ascension to the chief minister's seat.

Shoba revealed in an interview with Thanthi TV that Vijay is not a foodie. “He’s actually a very poor eater and doesn’t enjoy snacking. In fact, none of us in the family have the habit of eating snacks, and I think that’s one of the reasons behind his fitness."

When asked about his favourite dish, she added, "His absolute favourite dish is dosai with mutton kuzhambu." Then, Shoba disclosed that he also has the skill to make one particular dish. "He also knows how to make many varieties of dosas," she revealed, adding, "The moment I visit his house, he asks me what kind of dosa I want and makes it himself."

Shoba also recollected the time she received her first gift from her son. "We were shooting for Vasantha Vaasal when we once went shopping. There, he asked me for my size to buy a saree (laughs). After I told him sarees don't have size differences, he bought me a blue saree worth Rs 2000."

From son to actor to chief minister, has anything changed about the star after his political victory? Shoba says, "After becoming Chief Minister, the only change I see is in his outfit. Otherwise, he is still the same Vijay.”

On the film front, Vijay's Jana Nayagan is yet to see the light of day. The film, which was initially postponed due to censorship issues, was also leaked online across piracy sites. While fans expected the release on his birthday, a release date is yet to be fixed.
