The first single from Carmeni Selvam, titled 'Carmeni', tells the story of Samuthirakani's driver character and how his day goes by with his car. The song was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. Composed by the Musicloud Studio and Technologies company, the song features rap portions by Kulls and a rendition by Shreya Sriranga. Mani Amuthavan has penned the additional lyrics for the song.
Also starring Gautham Vasudev Menon in the lead role, the film is written and directed by Ram Chakri. The cast for the film also includes Lakshmi Priya, Abhinaya, Karthik Kumar, Badava Gopi, Madhumitha, Arjunan, Sankara Narayan V, Haritha Parakod, Kothandam, and Karan Chakravarthi.
Previously, in a statement, Ram Chakri spoke about the film. “Carmeni Selvam is being made as a movie that audiences of all ages can enjoy. Selvam (Samuthirakani), who has been living a peaceful and calm life, suddenly develops a greed for money. As he starts running behind it, the events that happen in his life have been crafted into a screenplay filled with humour,” he said.
Carmeni Selvam is produced by Arun Rangarajulu, with Sree Saravanan as a creative producer. Pathway Productions is the banner backing the film. The technical crew for the film includes Yuvraj Dakshan as the director of photography, Jagan RV and Dinesh S as the editors, and Shankar as the production designer.
The film, which has completed shooting and is currently in its post-production stage. Billed as a fun-filled family entertainer with a mix of humour and sentiment, the film is all set to hit theatres for Diwali 2025.
