Mari Selvaraj's Bison continues to get positive word of mouth from those in the film industry and outside of it. The other day, actor Suresh Krishna praised the film and gave a convincing verdict of its quality. Speaking to the media right out of the theatre, Suresh said that he had also seen the film earlier because he was supposed to star in it as the Dhruv Vikram character's coach. "I could not do it because I was busy with another film in Malayalam," Suresh said, expressing his regret at missing out on the film.

Bison tells a story of a youngster's (Dhruv Vikram) struggle to make it to the Indian National Kabaddi team in a world rife with violence based on caste and class divide. Suresh called it a beautiful film and said that he has seen and heard of such stories, having been born and brought up in Chennai. "Only someone like Mari Selvaraj could make it with a cinematic touch, and he has done it beautifully."

Suresh said that he could not forget the stories of caste, class and politics, having spent his upbringing years in Tamil Nadu. "Mari Selvaraj is making films based on his experiences from a young age. These things will always be in our mind," Suresh explained. The actor also said that he enjoyed the film a lot as he could connect with the film's subject.
