A week after the release of Mari Selvaraj's Bison Kaalamaadan, the filmmaker had a personal meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. The news was shared by the Chief Minister himself on X, following which Mari also took to the social media platform to pen a note.

MK Stalin shared photos of the meeting and wrote in Tamil, "Another diamond in Mari Selvaraj's crown!" The director has turned the story of a young man who set out from his village to achieve success, relying solely on his talent, into a truly unique cinematic experience, facing the struggles he faces both inside and outside the Kabaddi field."

Particularly commending Mari's journey as a filmmaker, the political leader wrote, "I have been watching each of his films closely. Each one never fails to leave a 'sharp message' and impact on our minds. In this way, Mari Selvaraj has very maturely shown the path that youth should take in politics, focusing on the sports sector."

On Bison's craft and performances, the Chief Minister added, "Bison shines as an example of how Mari's film language and artistry are improving more and more. My heartfelt compliments to all the actors, including Dhruv Vikram, Pasupathi, Anupama, and Rajisha, and the technicians who worked in the background, who have delivered outstanding performances in this film and brought Maari's screenplay to life! My best wishes to Mari Selvaraj for giving many more such works to the Tamil film industry!"

Responding to his wish on X, director Mari Selvaraj wrote, "I express my heartfelt gratitude that melts from my heart to all your boundless love and affection, sir, for the immense trust you have placed in me and my creations, for watching with enthusiasm, inviting me in person, and celebrating me with great affection, starting from my first film Pariyerum Perumal to Karnan, Mamannan, Vaazhai, and now Bison."

Bison, which hit theatres on October 17, is inching towards collecting Rs 30 crores at the end of its second week in theatres. Mari Selvaraj previously collaborated with Udhayanidhi Stalin for Maamannan, which marked the politician's last film before his full-time stint in politics.
