In an unprecedented scenario, the re-release of Ajith Kumar's Attagasam has been postponed a day before it was scheduled to hit theatres.

Fans of the actor and audiences who were eager to catch the entertainer on the big screens for the first time in 21 years expressed their disappointment and criticised the makers on social media for their improper planning and management. The move had also come without any prior notice from the makers as the booking option had been removed from sites overnight. With many already purchasing tickets to watch the show, audiences took to their social media handles to share their anger.

Originally produced by Vijayam Cine Combines, Attagasam was set to be re-released through IFPA Max Productions, headed by Indian Film and digital Producers Association (IFPA) President Priya Nair.

In their X post, the makers wrote that the film was postponed due to "unexpected issues" and apologised to audiences and for the inconvenience caused.

Previously, the film's director Saran underlined his disappointment about the re-release trailer of Ajith's Attagasam. "If you had entrusted me with this task, I would have acted as a goodwill gesture for the fans and warmed up the trailer... How good are FAN-MADE trailers? Anyway, all the best," he said.

Attagasam also stars Pooja while Sujatha, Nizhalgal Ravi, Babu Antony, Karunas, and Ramesh Khanna play key roles. It had music by Bharadwaj with cinematography by Venkatesh Anguraj and editing by Suresh Urs.

Attagasam remains one of Ajith’s most celebrated commercial entertainers, known for its gripping action, energetic soundtrack, and his commanding screen presence. The film was widely appreciated upon release and still holds a special place in the hearts of fans today.
