Sasikumar-Simran's latest family entertainer Tourist Family has been having a dream run at the box office. In 20 days of its theatrical run, the film, directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth has earned Rs 52.82 crore at the box office across India, according to Sacnilk. This is a sizeable collection for the film which was made on a reported budget of Rs 16 crore. Notably, the film earned over Rs 20 crore within its first week itself.

Tourist Family revolves around a Tamil family fleeing Sri Lanka due to the island nation's post-Covid economic crisis and making a livelihood in Tamil Nadu. How the family and community comes together in the face of adversity forms the plot of this film.

The film also stars Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel and Sreeja Ravi. Apart from critical and commercial acclaim, the film has also been receiving praise from all quarters - audiences, critics as well celebrities like RajinikanthDhanushSivakarthikeyan, and director SS Rajamouli, among others.

With the film still bringing a steady cash flow to theatres, the makers had also reportedly requested OTT partner JioHotstar to extend the theatrical window for the film. An official OTT release date is yet to be announced by the makers.

Tourist Family is produced by Pasilian Nazerath, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment banners. The film's technical crew comprises music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan, editor Barath Vikraman, art director Raj Kamal, and lyricist Mohan Rajan.
