Rajinikanth praises Tourist Family, lauds Sasikumar's script choices

Tourist Family has been having a dream run at the box office with packed theatres across Tamil Nadu. The Sasikumar-Simran film has been receiving unanimous praise from audiences and critics alike, and several celebrities have shared their appreciation for the actors and director for crafting a heartwarming film. Actor Rajinikanth has now shared his words of encouragement with Sasikumar and the team of the film.

An ecstatic Sasikumar took to his X handle to share that he was overjoyed to hear superstar himself calling his film 'Super'. "It’s always heartwarming to hear people saying that the film is super. But if Superstar himself says a movie is super, how can one even begin to describe that joy? After appreciating Ayothi and Nandhan, Rajini sir, in a hat-trick of delight, watched Tourist Family and emphatically said, ‘Suuuuper Sasikumar…’"

In the note, Sasikumar mentioned that Rajinikanth appreciated his role and noted that he truly lived as a 'dharmadasa'. Moved by his performance, the Vettaiyan actor also pointed out that Sasikumar's choice of scripts has been "astonishing". "Hearing these words from Rajini sir brought me immeasurable joy. He recalled every scene of the film with such clarity and praised the contribution of everyone involved. Every single word he spoke was a priceless certificate of honour for the Tourist Family team," said Sasikumar.

Directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, Tourist Family revolves around a Tamil family fleeing Sri Lanka due to the island nation's post-Covid economic crisis and making a livelihood in Tamil Nadu. How the family and community comes together in the face of adversity forms the plot of this film.

The film also stars Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel and Sreeja Ravi.

Tourist Family is produced by Pasilian Nazerath, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment banners.
