Abishan Jeevinth says Dhanush "knew Tourist Family would work"

Three weeks into Tourist Family's release, the film continues to bring audience to theatres along with appreciation from the film fraternity and audiences. Directed by Abishan Jeevinth, the film starred Sasikumar and Simran in lead roles and was released in theatres on May 1.

The debutant director took to his social media handles and shared that he met actor Dhanush on Sunday. Along with his wishes for him and the team, Dhanush had also noted that he knew the film would work as soon as he saw the teaser.

His post read, "Had the privilege of meeting Dhanush sir today! Grateful to receive his warm wishes for Tourist Family. He said, 'The moment I saw the teaser, I knew it would work.' Thank you so much for the encouragement, sir — it truly means a lot to us!"

Earlier, Rajinikanth, Sivakarthikeyan, and other celebrities had praised the film stating its importance in the lesson of humanity. TN Minister Ma Subramanian had also lauded the film saying that it teaches us to live a life of humanity and love with our neighbors.

Tourist Family revolves around a Tamil family fleeing Sri Lanka due to the island nation's post-Covid economic crisis and making a livelihood in Tamil Nadu. How the family and community comes together in the face of adversity forms the plot of this film.

The film also stars Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel and Sreeja Ravi.

Tourist Family is produced by Pasilian Nazerath, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment banners. The film's technical crew comprises music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan, editor Barath Vikraman, art director Raj Kamal, and lyricist Mohan Rajan.
