Kaali Venkat is an actor who has a film release almost every week or every other week. This week, he will be seen in House Mates, helmed by Rajavel, alongside Darshan. The film is presented by Sivakarthikeyan under his home banner. Kaali Venkat is also working with Sivakarthikeyan on Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi. Speaking ahead of the release of House Mates, Kaali opened up about what it's like to work with Sivakarthikeyan in an exclusive interview with CE.

In order to explain the camaraderie shared by him and Sivakarthikeyan on the film’s set, the actor used an analogy. "Parasakthi's shooting is progressing very well. As I’ve already worked with Sivakarthikeyan in the past, the film’s set is really fun. Sudha Kongara is like our school class teacher; she is very strict during the shoot. Siva and I are like the last benchers who whisper and crack jokes when the class is going on," he explained with a laugh.

Kaali Venkat then explained that it is never a dull day on the film’s set because of Sivakarthikeyan, and added as a joke that it came with its own disadvantages. "Siva is the best person to spend time with, as he keeps cracking jokes and you can’t help but laugh. However, this is quite unfortunate to happen on the sets of a film like Parasakthi, which has a very serious story (laughs). It becomes difficult for us to get back to our serious characters after having raucous fun. So, if Siva starts a joke, I immediately request him to tell it after the shoot is wrapped, as I would start laughing uncontrollably if not."

Housemates Movie Review: A zany horror that mostly delivers the goods

Parasakthi also stars Atharvaa, Ravi Mohan, and Sreeleela in lead roles. Reportedly, Rana Daggubati has also joined the film's cast, but the makers are yet to confirm the same. Based on true events, the story revolves around the anti-Hindi agitations in Tamil Nadu that happened in 1965.

The director's regular collaborator, GV Prakash, is the composer of the film, with the technical crew rounded out by cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, editor Sathish Suriya, and action choreographer Supreme Sundar.

House Mates, on the other hand, is all set to hit theatres on August 1. The film also stars Aarsha Baiju, Vinodhini, Dheena, and Abdool Lee. The film’s crew consists of MS Sathish as the cinematographer, Nishar Sharef as the editor, and Dinesh handling stunts. SP Sakthivel has served as a creative producer with Kalai Arasu as the co-producer. Playsmith Studios and South Studios are backing the film.
