
After facing significant criticism for withholding details about Coolie's Hindi distribution, the makers have now announced that Pen Marudhar and Pen Studios will handle the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer across a wider North Indian market.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will be distributed across the Hindi-speaking belt by Pen Marudhar which has previously partnered with top production houses like Bhansali Productions, Red Chillies Ent., T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Pooja Entertainment, and Jio Studios.
Apart from Hindi films like Amitabh Bachchan's Badla, Ayushmann Khurrana's Dreamgirl 1 and 2, Kartik-Sara starrer Love Aaj Kal, and Irrfan Khan's Angrezi Medium, among other films, the production house has also distributed notable South Indian films like RRR, Jersey, Vikram, PS-1 and 2, Vikram Vedha, and Sita Ramam.
Following the announcement, excitement has been building for the film’s Hindi release, with many anticipating a wider rollout across several North Indian states following its initial release.
Coolie, titled Coolie The Powerhouse for Hindi audience, boasts a star-studded ensemble consisting of Nagarjuna as Simon, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, Upendra as Kaleesha, Shruti Haasan as Preethi, and Soubin Shahir as Dayal. Rajinikanth plays Deva in the film. Aamir Khan is Dahaa in the film.
The rest of the technical crew consists of cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh alongside Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.
Coolie is all set to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada on August 14 worldwide.
