Ajith Kumar, who is currently in Malaysia for the Michelin 12H Malaysia Endurance Race at the Sepang International Circuit, made a quiet spiritual stop at the Batu Caves Murugan temple, a visit that has since gone viral for an entirely different reason.
Over the weekend, photos and videos of Ajith at the temple began circulating widely on social media. In one of the clips, the actor, dressed casually in a white T-shirt and jeans with sunglasses perched on his head, is seen smiling at fans as they gather around him. However, he soon raises his hand gently, signalling them to remain calm and refrain from shouting inside the premises.
Another widely shared video shows Ajith participating in the puja, receiving aarti, and covering his shoulders with a traditional red-and-gold shawl as a mark of respect. A priest at the temple is also seen performing a special puja for Ajith and his family members.
This isn’t the first time Ajith has had to remind admirers to maintain decorum during a temple visit. When he visited Tirumala recently, he was similarly spotted requesting fans to keep their excitement in check.
Ajith, who launched Ajith Kumar Racing, has spent much of the year participating in endurance competitions around the world. He has repeatedly stated that he will turn his focus back to films only when he finds time away from his racing schedule.
The actor was last seen in Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi and Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly. He is currently gearing up for his 64th film, tentatively titled AK64, which also reunites him with Adhik. At a recent press interaction, Adhik shared an update on the project, saying, "Pre-production is almost done. We’re scouting locations right now and plan to begin filming in February. It’s a very special project for me because Ajith sir has trusted me again after Good Bad Ugly. I’m approaching AK64 with that responsibility.”
Meanwhile, Ajith recently earned the title of Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025, and his 2004 action entertainer Attagasam made a return to theatres through a re-release.
