After a 24-hour delay, the makers of I'm Game dropped the trailer for Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming film, directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame, on Thursday. Besides fans, several actors also shared their excitement for the upcoming film. Judging by the I'm Game trailer, Dulquer plays a character who is completely immersed in the world of gambling, including sports betting.
The trailer promises a Dulquer Salmaan performance that is not often seen in Malayalam cinema, full of charm, charisma, and vulnerability. Although the actor has delivered performances with these different shades in films such as Kaantha and Chup, I'm Game promises a Dulquer who is never-seen-before in Malayalam cinema.
This is perhaps why the I'm Game trailer has excited several actors in Malayalam and elsewhere, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nivin Pauly, Jr NTR, Mamitha Baiju, Jayasurya, Sangeeth Prathap, Aju Varghese, and Arjun Das, among others.
Sharing a link to the trailer, Prithviraj wrote, "This looks kickass! All the best Dulquer Salmaan and Nahas Hidhayath and the entire team of I'm Game."
Sharing the trailer, Jr NTR wrote that he loved its "fiery vibe" before adding, "Gripping and engaging throughout.. I'm sure my brother Dulquer has something special on his hands yet again. Hope this bet pays off! Wishing him and the entire team all the very best!"
Meanwhile, Mamitha Baiju shared, "What a kickass trailer," followed by a fire emoticon. On the other hand, Nivin Pauly shared, "Killer trailer," and conveyed his best wishes to Dulquer, Nahas and the whole team behind the film. "Let us come together for Onam," Nivin wrote, alluding to the back-to-back releases of his film with Mamitha and director Girish AD, titled Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, and I'm Game in the festival season.
Sangeeth Prathap, another actor from Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, called the trailer "kidilam" (amazing), whereas Aju Varghese described it as "amazingly stylish". Dulquer's Lokah director, Dominic Arun, termed it "kickass," whereas the actor's Sita Ramam co-star Mrunal Thakur and cinematographer Ravi K Chandran wrote, "what a trailer" and "what an awesome trailer," respectively.
Arjun Das said that the trailer appears "fantastic," while Jayasurya shared, "The game changers are coming together... Nahas n DQ. Looking forward to watch it!"
I'm Game is set for an August 20 release in theatres worldwide.
