Actor Aju Varghese revealed recently that he received words of appreciation from Mammootty for his performance in director Ram’s Pranthu Po. In a conversation with The Maathevan Show, Aju said that Mammootty described his performance in the film as “good work”. He also disclosed that this is the first time Mammootty appreciated any of his performances in a film, despite his long career. Aju expressed his surprise about the positive feedback from the legendary actor coming in his fifteenth year in cinema and that too for what he considers a small role in a Tamil film. “I called and spoke to Ram sir immediately, because that (Mammootty's appreciation) is a big gift,” said the actor.
Also starring Shiva and Grace Antony, Paranthu Po marks Aju’s debut in Tamil cinema. In a recent conversation with CE, Aju said that his role in the film, while small, is important for it to complete. The actor told us that his character in the film encounters a situation unlike his other roles in his career so far. In a recent social media post, Aju thanked director Ram for choosing him for the role.
Interestingly, Mammootty worked with Ram on Peranbu. On the other hand, Aju told CE exclusively that Nivin Pauly referred both him and Grace Antony to Ram for their respective roles in the film. Nivin has worked with Ram on the filmmaker’s upcoming feature Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai.
