Abishek Kumar, star of Prime Video's Panchayat remake Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, took to his Instagram Stories to share his views on the Brad Pitt-starrer F1. The actor, who is also a stand-up comedian with a background in theatre, described F1 as "one of the best theatrical experiences" that he has had in his life. Abishek also recommended watching the film in IMAX.
In addition, Thudarum star Prakash Varma lauded the film and its IMAX experience. Prakash, an ad film veteran who made a breakthrough acting debut opposite Mohanlal in director Tharun Moorthy's Thudarum, shared that he watched the film at a Toho Cinemas location. He described it as offering "Mindbending cinema viewing and sound experience," which he "won't get over... for a long time." Prakash also shared a still of Pitt in a racing car and wrote, "Brad is the new 60.” With this post, he seems to imply that the F1 star looks so good, is so dynamic, and performs so convincingly in a demanding role that he redefines what it means to be in one’s 60s.
The high-octane sports drama follows Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a former Formula One prodigy, as he returns to the circuit after a 30-year absence to mentor a young, struggling driver (Damson Idris) and save his former team from collapse. Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, directed the film, which he also co-wrote with Ehren Kruger. F1 has already made a significant impact at the global box office, reportedly grossing nearly $150 million worldwide since its release.
Despite incorporating familiar sports drama tropes, critics have lauded the film for its adrenaline-pumping action and Pitt's compelling performance. Real-life Formula One circuits and actual drivers contribute to the film's authenticity, making the racing sequences particularly thrilling for audiences.
Beyond Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, Abhishek Kumar has established himself as a versatile performer. His theatre background provides a foundation for his acting, while his stand-up comedy career showcases his sharp wit, comedic timing, and ability to engage audiences with relatable, family-friendly humour. Beyond Thudarum, Prakash Varma is known for his extensive ad film work, most notably the 'You and I' advertisement featuring a boy and a pug dog for Hutch.
Besides these two, actor Samyuktha also gave a shout out to F1 star Brad Pitt. Samyuktha shared a still of Pitt on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “I mean … … wellll !!!!” Recently, Deepika Padukone did something similar.
