The makers of Mahaan have unveiled the first-look posters of actors Namratha Gowda and Kiran Srinivas, offering a glimpse into the two characters from director PC Shekar's upcoming film. Produced by Prakash S Budur under the Aakash Pictures banner, the film stars Vijay Raghavendra in the lead, with Shivarajkumar who appears in a pivotal role.
The project has attracted attention since its announcement for bringing together a seasoned ensemble cast, and the latest character reveals offer more insight into its world.
Sharing her excitement about the film, Namratha Gowda said that working with PC Shekar had been a long-standing wish. "I immediately connected with both the story and my character when he narrated the script," she said.
Namratha plays an educated young woman who returns to her village after completing her studies in the city and dedicates herself to addressing the challenges faced by farmers. Calling the experience special, she said sharing screen space with actors such as Shivarajkumar, Vijay Raghavendra, Radhika Narayan and Mithra made the project even more memorable. She also praised producer Prakash Buduru for creating a well-organised production environment.
Kiran Srinivas, whose first-look poster was also released, plays a village youth who moves to the city for education and dreams of finding opportunities abroad. The story, however, takes a different turn when he returns to his village. "The film carries a meaningful social message, and I'm happy to be part of it," he said, adding that collaborating with PC Shekar and an experienced ensemble has been a rewarding experience.
Director PC Shekar said both actors will be seen in roles unlike anything they have portrayed before. "We are delighted to present the first looks of Namratha Gowda and Kiran Srinivas. They have brought freshness and sincerity to their characters," he said.
Producer Prakash Budur described Mahaan as the maiden production of Aakash Pictures and said the film is centred on farmers and carries a broader social message. Besides Vijay Raghavendra in the lead and Shivarajkumar in a key role, the film also features a host of well-known Kannada actors, with Namratha Gowda and Kiran Srinivas playing key parts.
