Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Udta Teer has held up considerably well at the box office, after taking an average start last week. The spy-comedy, produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, also stars Sara Ali Khan.

On Wednesday, the spy comedy earned Rs 2.65 crore nett according to Sacnilk. While these figures mark an 18 percent drop from its Tuesday collections, the occupancies are better than few other recent Hindi films of this genre.  The film’s domestic collections stand at Rs 34.65 crores, while oversea collections around Rs 8.5 crores. Worldwide, Udta Teer now stands at Rs 42.68 crores.

On Thursday, Udta Teer is also set to cross the domestic nett figures of Chand Mera Dil.

Udta Teer will also benefit from the absence of any big Hindi releases this week. So by the time Ramayana arrives in theatres next week on November 5, Udta Teer has a significance chance of touching nett figure of 50 crores at domestic box office. It is to be noted that Ayushmann’s previous film, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, had collected Rs 51 crores nett in India.

Written and directed by Aakash Kaushik, Udta Teer featured in its massive ensemble cast notable actors like Rahul Bose, Suhail Nayyar, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, and Raghubir Yadav. Additional, the film marked the last on-screen appearance of late actor Mukul Dev.

In our review for the film, we noted, “A liberal society has space for satire. I perceived Udta Teer to be that film, one that makes us laugh at jingoism as a whole devoid of any nationality. But if Dhurandhar can make you seethe against our neighbours, this one will only make you ridicule them.”
