The makers of Rajkummar Rao-starrer Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, which is set for theatrical release next week, released their film’s new single on Saturday. Titled ‘Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan,’ the romantic number is composed by Pritam.
What makes the song special is the reunion of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal who are collaborating after a long time for a love song. Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The soft number also has a section with Marathi lyrics, that adds an earthy quality to it. Shreya's softness is impressively off-set by Sonu's rousing vocals, helping the warm song evolve into a track that celebrates the feeling of finding a love that feels like home.
Featuring Rajkummar and Wamiqa, who play a married couple in the film, the song video focuses on the slowly-budding intimacy between the two, first through the quiet and tender wedding rituals and then over soft moments of domesticity and as companions as they together explore the city of Bombay.
Shreya Ghoshal shared on the occasion, “‘Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan’ has such a warm and romantic soul, and I loved bringing that emotion alive. Singing alongside Sonu ji always brings a special musical feeling, and this song was no different.” Sonu Nigam added, “‘Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan’ is a song that celebrates love in its simplest and most beautiful form. Shreya’s voice brings a beautiful sensitivity to the song, and together we have tried to create something that feels timeless and heartfelt.”
Directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films, Prahaar is set to release on October 16, clashing against Yami Gautam Dhar starrer Nayyi Navelli.
