On October 2, which marked Gandhi Jayanti, eminent director duo Abbas-Mustan announced their next project titled 3 Monkeys. The duo also shared the first poster of the film which stars Arjun Rampal in the lead. 

Taking to their Instagram page, Abbas-Mustan captioned the post, “See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. They chose otherwise. Meet the new-age Three Monkeys. They don’t play by the rules. They rewrite them.”  The three lead figures besides Arjun as Sanjay are interestingly named Amar, Akbar, and Anthony. The film's tagline goes, "See everything. Listen to your own voice. Speak without fear."

The makers also announced the release date for their film. Also starring Vishal Jethwa, Tenzin Dalha (Axone) and Priya Prakash Warrier in the primary cast, the film is set to arrive on December 4. Priya will be making her Hindi debut with the project. Tanishk Bagchi is onboard as a composer. 

3 Monkeys has been a long time in the making. The film was first announced in 2022, with the makers sharing a brief BTS clip from the sets. Produced by Allahrakha Vohra, Sayeed Vohra and Faruk Vohra under AV Picture Production, the film also marks Arjun’s maiden collaboration with Abbas-Mustan.  At the box office, the thriller will clash against Shraddha Kapoor starrer Eetha.

Abbas-Mustan, who complete 40 years as directors next year, have directed some of the most popular films of 90s and 2000s including Baazigar, Ajnabee and Race. Their last film, Machine, released in 2017. 

Arjun Rampal, meanwhile, has been part of two of the most talked-about films this year - Dhurandhar 2 and Satluj. His upcoming projects include Imtiaz Ali's Netflix series O Saathi Re.
