We had earlier reported about Imtiaz Ali planning his next project, O Saathi Re, a Netflix original series which stars Arjun Rampal, Avinash Tiwary, and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead cast. On Friday late night, Arjun Rampal shared the update of wrapping shoot for the project.
Taking to his Instagram page, Arjun shared a few photos where he can be seen with Imtiaz, Aditi, and series director Arif Ali. He captioned the post, “Wrapped something very special, with some very talented special people. Will miss you guys. Was lovely to be directed finally by my college friend Imtiaz Ali.”
Aditi Rao Hydari replied in the comments, “Arjun! Thank you for being so effortlessly amaazing… always cheering for you…. Biggest luck for your new adventure.”
Imtiaz Ali is on board for the series as the co-writer, creator and showrunner. O Saathi Re was officially announced in February last year, with the makers sharing videos of the cast and Imtiaz from a script-reading session. In an official statement, Imtiaz described the show as 'a modern story with a vintage heart, an enchanted fairy tale set in the fiasco of Metropolitan life.'
Aditi had previously worked with Imtiaz Ali on the 2011 film Rockstar, where she played the role of a morally ambiguous journalist. The series also marks Imtiaz’s second collaboration with Avinash Tiwary after Laila Majnu (2018).
Imtiaz had earlier collaborated with Netflix for two shows, She (2020-2022) and the period musical-drama Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), which received plenty of critical acclaim. Arif, who is directing O Saathi Re, was also the director for season 2 of She (2022).
A release date for O Saathi Re is yet to be announced.
