While the first few days of Dhurandhar 2's release saw industry praise largely from south Indian film industries, the Hindi film fraternity is gradually coming forward to embrace the film and its monumental success. On Friday night, Karan Johar posted an emotional note, expressing his joy for the Dhurandhar 2 team for their success, where he also called this the career-best performance by Ranveer Singh.
Taking to his Instagram page, the senior filmmaker praised Aditya Dhar for raising the bar with his film. “The humanisation and layered back story even of the antagonist… the impeccable craft… the soundscape and the all round cinematic prowess proves the brilliance and directorial command of Aditya Dhar… what an absolutely astounding and outstanding filmmaker he is… he not only raises the mainstream bar but also creates a new one,” he said.
Talking about Ranveer Singh’s performance, Karan Johar was full of gushy praise for his Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. He said, “Your career BEST work and every tear of yours, every quiet stare, each time you walk with undeniable swag you prove you are one of the greats!!! You are and will always be an artist of huge calibre for the ages…. True Dhurandhar Movie Star.” Karan also noted that Dhurandhar 2 is much more than ‘the discussions on testosterone, hyper alpha energy and deep rooted patriotism’ that it has ignited.
Karan concluded his post on an emotional note, adding, “I went back to the days I watched pure solid Hindi cinema in single screens in the 70s… and came out satiated and dreamt of being a part of this business… today I am a part of the fraternity and Dhurandhar reminded me of how proud and grateful I am to be here today.”
A few days ago, at the Prime Video 2026 event, Karan had extended her congratulations to Yami Gautam, actor and Aditya Dhar’s wife who also made a brief cameo appearance in Dhurandhar 2.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Dhurandhar 2 also crossed 1100 crore mark at global box office. The Aditya Dhar directorial also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun in lead cast.
