Actor Rajinikanth is someone who makes it a point to take to public fora to appreciate a film he likes, irrespective of its size or star value. The latest film to get a pat on its back from the Superstar is the Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Taking to his X handle, Rajinikanth wrote, "What a film... Dhurandhar 2!!! Aditya Dhar box office ka baap!!! Many congratulations to Ranveer and the entire cast and crew. A must watch film for every indian. Jai Hind." (sic)
The second film, which was released a few months after the first, has its focus on how Hamza takes over the underworld of Karachi and gets closer to ISI and to the power centre of Pakistani politics to stay one step ahead of the plotters against the Indian soil. The film is also emotionally charged. With a school-going child, Hamza's future with Yalina is hopeless, and he steadily pursues his goals.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge opened to mostly positive reviews upon release and was viewed as equally competent compared to the first film. An excerpt from the CE review reads, "Director Aditya Dhar ably reigns the narrative and in a bid to remain engaging doesn’t resort to inundating the film with one action setup after another." The film is following in the footsteps of its predecessor, raking in record-breaking box office numbers. The recent BO update from the makers suggest that the film has made over Rs 750 crore worldwide in just four days of its release.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also starring Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor, focuses on Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer) taking over the Karachi underworld after eliminating Akshaye Khanna's Rahman Dakait and penetrating deep into the underworld and politics to effectively thwart Pakistan's bid to destabilise India.
