Aamir Khan is set to tie the knot with his partner Gauri Spratt in a quiet ceremony at his home on July 5, multiple reports state.
The 61-year-old actor and Gauri, 47, have decided to formalise their relationship through a registered marriage, with only their families and a small group of close friends present.
As per a report in India Today, a source said, “They are both in a secure place and only wanted to celebrate their bond. They have already started preparations for the wedding, which will be an intimate event attended by family and close friends.”
The wedding will be a private, close-knit ceremony which will be held at Aamir’s residence. Although the official guest-list is not out yet, reports state that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan might attend the ceremony.
Gauri, who was previously associated with Aamir Khan Productions, has a seven-year-old son, Quinn, from her previous marriage. She is also the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, a British-born Communist who came to India in the 1920s and later became involved in India's freedom movement.
This will be Aamir’s third marriage. The actor was previously married to filmmaker Kiran Rao, with whom he has a son, Azad. His first marriage was with Reena Dutta and he shares son Junaid and daughter Ira with her.
Aamir introduced Gauri to the media at a pre-birthday event in Mumbai last year. During the interaction, he confirmed their relationship and revealed that they had been together for over a year. Speaking about the possibility of marriage at the time, he said, “We are fully committed. However, at 60, marriage might not suit me, but let’s see.”
On the work front, Aamir was last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par.
