After Rajpal Yadav found himself in a legal tussle over cheque-bounce cases ultimately surrendering to the Tihar jail authorities after a Delhi Court order, many from the industry, including Salman Khan, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Chaudhary, and also Bihar politician Tej Pratap Yadav, came in support of the actor and offered him monetary aid. Now, production house The Viral Fever (TVF) has also taken to social media to stand with Rajpal. They also offered to do a project with him.
Arunabh Kumar-led TVF took to X and wrote, “Through every phase, your work has brought joy to millions. We stand with you, and we support you. We would truly love to create something together one day. A series that lets audiences see even more of the magic you carry. Always rooting for you.”
Rajpal’s bail plea was heard by the Delhi High Court today and the hearing was adjourned till Monday. While hearing the petition Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said, "You have gone to jail because you didn't honour your own commitment."
The court also noted that the actor's counsel made conflicting assurances before the Bench on two occasions. In one instance, Rajpal’s counsel said, and he affirmed, that the outstanding amount will be paid to the complainant M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd directly. While on Thursday, the counsel submitted that the money will be deposited before the court.
The case is associated with Rajpal's failure to pay back a loan to Murali Project Pvt Ltd. He took the loan to help fund his 2012 film Ata Pata Laapata, which he directed and starred in. The film's box office failure led to a situation where many cheques that the actor issued bounced, causing litigation against him. Rajpal is currently in a debt of Rs 9 crore.
