While Dhurandhar has largely received acclaim and support from Hindi film industry, there have been a few critics of the film within industry as well. On Sunday, Dhadak 2 filmmaker Shazia Iqbal penned a critical note on her social media page that’s evidently hinting at the Ranveer Singh starrer.
Taking to her Instagram stories section, Shazia shared two notes — one of which stated, “What a sinister film! It’s not hidden, it’s not unintentional — inciting hate and violence is in the DNA of the film.” The filmmaker used tracks from Dhurandhar, which strongly hinted at Dhurandhar being the film in question.
In a separate IG story, the Dhadak 2 filmmaker made a sarcastic remark at the ‘industry dude bros’ for championing the film. “But it’s a ‘well-made’ film, guys… with some cool BGM. Well done, industry dude bros. Glad that most of y’all don’t care about minorities enough to even hide your blatant apathy,” she penned.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy-actioner has received praise from many notable industry personalities like Priyadarshan, Anurag Kashyap, Suriya, Kangana Ranaut and Anupam Kher among many others. On Monday, Shekhar Kapur too penned a brief note showering praises upon Aditya Dhar for his film. Among others, Dhadak 2 producer Karan Johar too had praised Dhurandhar for its cinematic value and technical prowess.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, the first poster of Dhurandhar 2 was unveiled, with the makers also announcing a new title for the sequel.
