Earlier on Wednesday, Yash Raj Films had congratulated Dhurandhar in an official statement released on their social media pages. Now, director Aditya Dhar has responded to the praise from YRF, acknowledging the production house’s influence on his early years.
Taking to his X page, Aditya Dhar penned a long note, stating, “Thank you YRF. It was growing up on films like Yash ji’s Deewar, Darr etc that greatly influenced me! To receive such kind appreciation today from a company whose iconic films have defined and nurtured generations of Indian filmmakers and cinema fans is deeply humbling.”
Aditya also mentioned that his major break in the film industry was through a Yash Raj production Kabul Express (2006), the Kabir Khan film that starred John Abraham and Arshad Warsi in lead roles — Aditya Dhar had worked as a lyricist on the film. Aditya concluded his note, saying, “Deeply grateful for the generosity and the love.”
In their note, Yash Raj Films had penned in Aditya’s praise, “s the captain of the ship, Aditya Dhar’s clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new benchmark for Indian cinema.”
It is to be noted that Dhurandhar has drawn plenty of comparisons with many Yash Raj Films productions with its portrayal of spies and cross-border terrorism and exploration of similar themes as films like Pathaan (2023), Ek Tha Tiger (2017) and War 2 (2025).
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 is set for theatrical release on March 19.
