About two months into its theatrical release, the Harshvardhan Rane starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is set to make its digital debut. Recently, ZEE5 announced that it would start streaming the film from December 18 onwards. The announcement contradicts recent speculation about it releasing on Netflix.
Milap Zaveri directed the love story, produced by Anshul Garg and Dinesh Jain under the Desi Movies Factory banner. It tells the story of Vikramaditya (Harshvardhan), an obsessive youngster, and Adaa (Sonam Bajwa), an independent woman who is keen on not becoming too involved in a romantic relationship. The film also stars Sachin Khedekar, Shaad Randhawa, Rajesh Khera, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. It turned out to be a surprise hit at the box office, earning more than 100 crore from theatres worldwide, according to Sacnilk data.
Speaking about the film and its digital premiere, Harshvardhan stated, "Vikramaditya is driven entirely by passion — he loves with all his heart and fights with everything he has. There’s a raw madness and a surprising warmth within him. Seeing audiences respond so strongly in theatres was incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited for many more viewers to experience that intensity as the film premieres on ZEE5 this holiday season."
On the other hand, Sonam shared, "Adaa is strong, fearless and fiercely protective of her heart. But when love finds her, it unsettles her in ways she never imagined. Portraying her was an emotional journey, and the overwhelming response in theatres made it even more special. This year has been truly memorable with 3 Hindi releases, and I’m excited to end it on a high with the world digital premiere of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat on ZEE5 this festive season."
Meanwhile, director Milap added, "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was born from the idea that love, when taken to its extremes, can be both intoxicating and destructive.
