The trailer of Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s upcoming romantic-drama, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. The film is directed by Milap Milan Zaveri (Marjaavaan (2019) and Satyamev Jayate (2018)), who has also written the screenplay with Mushtaq Shiekh.

The trailer reveals little about the plot but just introduces Harshvardhan as an intense lover and Sonam as his beloved. It features some poetic dialogues that Harshvardhan says to her, bringing in the metaphors of Parwana (moth) and Shama (candle), to express his feelings. All of it plays along with parts of a romantic song being heard in the background. Harshvardhan says at one point while driving a car, “Khudki deewaniyat me wo khudko tabaah kar leta hai, khatam kar leta hai, fanaah kar leta hai (In his own madness, he kills himself — destroys himself, annihilates himself.).” It is then revealed that tensions rise between the two and Sonam challenges him to face her other, darker side. There are visuals of Harshvardhan beating up some people. In one scene, Sonam seems to be breaking a glass flask containing blood. The trailer ends with another conversation between Harshvardhan and Sonam where he says, “Tum sabse kehti hona ki mai tumhari Zindagi ka Raavan hun? To itihaas ka mai pehla Raavan hun jo Sita ko khud ghar chhod kar aayega (You tell everyone that I am the Raavan of your life? Then I’ll be the first Raavan in history who will personally take Sita back home)”.

The film has been shot by Nigam Bomzan and edited by Maahir Zaveri. It features background score by John Stewart Eduri and music by Kunaal Vermaa, Kaushik-Guddu, Rajat Nagpal, Annkur R Pathakk, Rahul Mishra & DJ Chetas.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat will be released in theatres on October 21, clashing with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma.
