Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat box office: Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic-drama, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has done a steady business in two days since its release on the occasion of Diwali on October 21. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 16.50 crore at the box office.
With an opening of Rs 9 crore on Day 1, the film saw a small dip on Day 2 as it earned Rs 7.75 crore with an occupancy of 30.96%. The film clashed at the box office with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy, Thamma, which saw a drop of 22.50% on Day 2, as it earned Rs 18.6 crore. While Ek Deewane… registered a drop of 13.89%, faring a bit better in comparison, considering the lower budget and lesser star value.
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has released at a time when intense romantic-dramas are seeing a revival after the massive success of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara. The Milap Milan Zaveri directorial has also come after the re-release of Harshvardhan’s Sanam Teri Kasam, which turned out to be a huge success when it hit the screen earlier this year in February.
Harshvardhan will also be seen next in Sanam Teri Kasam 2 and the actioner Silaa. He was last seen in The Miranda Brothers, directed by Sanjay Gupta, which was released last year on JioHotstar.
Meanwhile, Sonam was recently seen in the multi-starrer comedy-drama, Housefull 5 which was released in theatres on June 6 earlier this year. The actor will be seen next in Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 which is set to be released in theatres on September 5 and also has Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh's Border 2 in the pipeline, which will be out next year.
