Marvel Studios has unveiled a series of major updates for Avengers: Doomsday, confirming the film's runtime while also announcing an unusually early ticket sale window ahead of its theatrical release on December 18.

The studio has confirmed that tickets for premium-format screenings will go on sale on July 20—nearly five months before the film's release. The advance booking campaign will coincide with the launch of Marvel's new "Infinity Vision" premium exhibition format. The move comes as the studio prepares for a crowded holiday season, with Dune: Part Three also slated to release on December 18 and expected to compete for premium large-format screens.

Fans can also expect the first public trailer for the film later this month. Marvel is set to return to San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, where the studio is widely expected to unveil a new trailer. While footage from the film was shown exclusively to exhibitors at CinemaCon earlier this year, it has not yet been released publicly. The new trailer is also expected to play in theatres alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which releases on July 31.

Coming to the runtime, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Avengers: Doomsday currently has a runtime of 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes). That makes it longer than Avengers: Infinity War, which ran for 149 minutes, but shorter than Avengers: Endgame, the longest film in the franchise at 181 minutes.

The film marks Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though this time he will portray Doctor Doom instead of Tony Stark/Iron Man. The cast also includes several actors from Fox's X-Men films, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer and Channing Tatum.

Marvel recently unveiled concept art for the film during the Bilibili World expo in Shanghai. The artwork featured Doctor Doom in his iconic armour alongside familiar MCU characters such as Thor, Loki and Steve Rogers, while also showcasing comic-inspired costumes for several of the X-Men characters. The illustrations were created by former Marvel visual development director Andy Park.

While the studio has revealed much of the ensemble, the participation of Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange has yet to be officially confirmed. Avengers: Doomsday is expected to bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandan heroes and the New Avengers, with the events of the film setting the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release in 2027.
