Earlier, we reported about Marvel Studios attempting to bring back Chris Hemsworth's Thor in a serious version with Avengers: Doomsday. With the release of the Doomsday teaser, focusing on Hemsworth's iconic character, fans have been chanting 'peak Thor is back' on the internet. There is a sense of fear and gravitas in Hemsworth's voice as Thor in the new teaser. "Grant me the strength of the old fathers, so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her. Not as a warrior, but as warmth, to teach her not battle, but stillness, the kind I never knew. Please father heed my word," Thor can be heard saying in the teaser.

Speaking of which, the teaser comes much to the relief of many MCU fans who dislike the version of the character in the last two standalone films, Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder. It also comes not long after Hemsworth himself criticised the version of his character in Thor: Love and Thunder. In multiple interviews, Hemsworth said that it became extremely "silly" for people's liking, although he himself enjoyed doing this version of the character as well.

In a 2023 interview with GQ, the actor said that his own son's friends were among the main critics of Thor in Taika Waititi's film. "It’s a bunch of eight-year-olds critiquing my film. They shared, 'We thought this one had too much humor, the action was cool but the VFX weren’t as good,'" Hemwsorth shared. The actor also added, "I cringe and laugh equally at it."

Later, while speaking to Vanity Fair, Hemsworth admitted that it turned into a parody version of Thor. "I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself. I didn’t stick the landing," Hemsworth shared.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for a December 18 release in theatres.
