Earlier, we reported about Robert Downey Jr coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, who is described as a supervillain from the Marvel Comics. Considering the actor's reputation for playing powerful characters and the description for Doctor Doom in Marvel Comics, it is a given that the character will be quite strong, at least conceptually speaking. However, the Russo Brothers are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to positioning the film around this iconic comic book character. The other day, the filmmaker duo dropped the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, featuring Chris Hemsworth's Thor and his daughter, played by the actor's real-life child India Rose Hemsworth. In the caption for the post on social media, they wrote: "When even a God has to pray for strength.... Fear Doom."

It is the last two words, 'Fear Doom', that piques the audience's interest, making them wonder if this is the Russo Brothers' way of hinting at their efforts to position Doctor Doom as the most fearsome villain in the MCU canon.

The audience is also excited to see Hemsworth's comeback as a version of Thor who is closer to the one they associate with the Avengers films, especially Avengers: Endgame, and not the last two instalments in the character's standalone films, Ragnarok and Love and Thunder. There is some gravitas in Hemsworth's voice in the Avengers: Doomsday teaser, building excitement for the comeback of 'Peak Thor' among a section of the audience.

Also coming back for the next film in the Avengers canon are Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, and Florence Pugh as Yelena.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit in theatres in December next year. The Russo Brothers are also working on a sequel to the film, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled for a December 2027 release in theatres.
