Walker Scobell, better known as Percy Jackson for playing the character in the Disney+ and Hulu series, has shared a candid note on having to miss school prom because his obsessive fans have sent death threats to his dates for the school dance.
Taking to his Instagram story on Sunday, Scobell wrote, "Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom. Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live. It’s not fair to them or to their families. Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That’s just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this.”
In two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Scobell plays the son of Poseidon alongside Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. Other cast members include Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer and Glynn Turman. The actor, as Percy Jackson, joins hands with his demigod friends and embarks on mythical quests while learning to harness their powers at Camp Half-Blood in the series, which is adapted from Rick Riordan's eponymous YA book series.
Currently available to stream on JioHotstar in India, the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered in December 2023, while the second season came two years later in December 2025. While the first season was based on The Lightning Thief, the second was adapted from The Sea of Monsters. The Titan's Curse will be adapted for season 3 of the series, which was renewed ahead of the season 2 premiere.
Apart from the series, Scobell has also starred in The Adam Project, Secret Headquarters and Looking Through Water. He is set to play a voice role in the upcoming The Angry Birds Movie 3 and has already lent his voice for an episode in Cartoonified with Phineas and Ferb.
